Can Hindi Medium Students Score Good Marks In English Section of IBPS PO Exam?

English language has become an integral part of any competitive exam. It plays a significant role in the exam as major part of selection process includes English. With the recent addition of descriptive English in all the exams it has become very important to enhance English language to ace the exam and get a prestigious job. Candidates with weak English prefer to take Regional Rural Bank Exams (RRB Exams) as it is not compulsory section in the selection process of the exam.

In order to enter into more options for getting government jobs as almost all the exams have English Section as one of the compulsory one. One cannot ignore if candidates want to qualify the exam be it IBPS or SSC.   1. Make a list of basic grammar rules and understand each one it. Take a practice exercises on the rule learned so that you can grasp it immediately.
  2. Develop the habit of reading magazines, newspapers and novels. It will improve your language fluency. Try to use the new words by making sentences to understand the meaning as used in the article read.
  3. Subscribe to any good educational you tube channel delivering English language lectures and know the basics of the rules which you have not understood.
  4. Mark difficult words while reading newspapers and novels. Find the meaning from the reputed dictionary and note down in a separate notebook and revise them daily. Learn the words which are new to you rather than mugging up the OXFORD DICTIONARY like a monkey!!!!
  5. Write an essay or rewrite an article or essay you have read. Get it checked from the subject expert and know your weak points. Candidates need to improve writing skills also along with the basic grammar and vocabulary to attempt the descriptive paper effectively.
  6. Learn the correct pronunciation of words so that you do not commit any mistake while writing an essay or letter in the examination. Pronunciation helps in writing the correct spellings therefore pronounce it correctly while you are learning it.
  7. In bank exams grammar plays a less role as only 5 to 10 questions are asked in this. More questions are based on reading skills such as RC, Cloze Test, inferences, and Para jumbles. Therefore, maintain the practice of reading articles and newspapers to improve your reading speed and understanding the language pattern.
  8. Questions like Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Cloze Test, Para jumbles and inferences can be attempted accurately by those who are not good in English if they read lot of newspapers and articles.
